Critical Connections is pleased to partner with Muflehun to bring you Viral Peace–a two-day workshop for youth activists, change-makers and young leaders to learn strategies to push back against hate, extremism and violence. The Viral Peace workshop helps participants in developing programs and campaigns for their individual missions and strategically use social media platforms to build their own narratives, organically build communities and stand up for their identified cause. Viral Peace facilitates young influencers in utilizing their potential to build civil society, be active agents of peacemaking as well as effective leaders. While the workshop is free, and lunch and refreshments will be provided, registration is required.

RELIGIOUS LITERACY YOUTH WORKSHOP
March 2017
Venue: TBA

The INGYouth program, an initiative by ING, is aimed at providing Muslim youth with the information and skills to respond to commonly asked questions about Islam and Muslims. Our interactive training and workshops primarily focus on the shared experiences of Muslim youth as well as issues pertaining to American-Muslim identity, bullying in schools, and speaking about Islam and Muslims to the broader American community. Our training prepares youth to join the INGYouth Speakers program, qualifying students to present on Islam and Muslims in their schools. This endeavor will enable students to be part of a shared network of Muslim youth across the country seeking to challenge Islamophobia at a grassroots level.

For more information about the above workshops, please contact Azhar Gulaid at agulaid@smith.edu
